Most auction houses take a commission from the seller on items sold at auction. We will agree this in advance with you. If your item sells, you will receive a payment which is based on the ‘hammer price’ minus the agreed commission and any other pre-agreed expenses (for example, shipping and handling or specialist marketing). If the bidding on your lot does not reach the reserve price, then your item will not sell in the auction. If this happens, our team will help you to decide what to do next.

You may choose to:

  • Take back your property.
  • Offer your item for sale in another auction.
  • Sell your item privately.
